We at Comtech CyberStronger want to empower organizations to accelerate cyber technology learning through hands-on experience and skills validation. With that goal in mind, we have partnered with Skillable (formerly, Learn on Demand Systems), a global leader in hands-on live learning, to deliver that learning experience to you.
Skillable is fully committed to inclusion of its customers with disabilities. They have taken proactive steps designed to ensure that their platform adheres to the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA via a third-party audit and internal training. By redesigning their existing content with these guidelines in mind and making continuous and conscious improvements to their future product features, Skillable is proud to feature content that is accessible to users of diverse abilities. This includes alternative text for images, appropriately labeled tables, clear heading structures, and good color contrast, among other crucial accessibility considerations.
Skillable's platform has undergone accessibility audits by a third-party accessibility consulting firm, Accessibility Partners. This company used a three-prong approach to testing: skilled accessibility testers with and without disabilities, coupled with assistive technologies, and accessibility testing tools.
To ensure that Skillable received the most accurate results with respect to accessibility, Accessibility Partners’ test engineers used a process that leverages the right combination of testers and assistive technologies to emulate the experience of many users with disabilities.
The testing team (both with and without disabilities) executed WCAG 2.2 AA diagnostic testing on Skillable’s customer-facing products . To achieve this, the Accessibility Partners’ team utilized assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification, and voice recognition software to evaluate and recommended technology solutions from the actual perspective of those with disabilities.
Based on Accessibility Partners’ results, Skillable has implemented their recommendations to further increase the accessibility of their platform’s experience.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are included in the web accessibility guidelines published by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). That is part of the overall umbrella organization of the of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the primary standards organization for the Internet, on an international scale. WCAG 2.2 (the most current update of the web accessibility standards). The WCAG are a set of technical standards and recommendations that specify how to make content accessible, primarily for people with disabilities. The WCAG are categorized into three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.
Skillable has adhered to the middle level, AA, which is the most accepted level in industries like ours, as well as other organizations’ best practices for web accessibility.
While Skillable are very confident in the overall accessibility of their platform, occasionally they may have missed the mark in some areas. If you discover something that needs improvement or have difficulty viewing any of their web pages via assistive technology, please contact us and we will inform Skillable immediately.
